FC Barcelona terminates the contract of their Danish forward

On June 5, 1991, Braithwaite was born in Esbjerg, Denmark. He began playing football as a youngster with Esbjerg fB before briefly attending the FC Midtjylland academy. But in 2007, he returned to Esbjerg and made a three-year professional commitment to the team. This summer, Martin Braithwaite has had a fairly dull few months at Barcelona, as the forward has come under fire from his fans. The addition of players like Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Robert Lewandowski has diminished his standing in the first team, and despite having a contract that runs until 2024, he has been asked to leave Camp Nou. Braithwaite isn’t the strongest in the air, despite being 6 feet tall. He also doesn’t do much when he doesn’t have the ball, which is a disappointment. After Luis Suarez and Ousmane Dembele, the La Liga giants suffered injuries, leaving Barcelona without any options up front; the club was permitted to acquire a forward. Martin Braithwaite is currently going through his medicals for the La Liga side Espanyol. Braithwaite is signing a three-year contract with Espanyol to end in June 2025.

Barcelona is set to pay a small fee for releasing Martin Braithwaite from his contract, allowing him to join Espanyol without any transfer fees. It is transfer deadline day, and Barcelona is one of the more active clubs on the market. Barcelona is still looking to push through a fair number of deals before the summer transfer window deadline. The transfer window always provides thrills, with clubs looking to make last-minute deals or offload players before the window shuts.

Danish football chief Hansen said, “Something that probably falls between bullying and harassment. It’s shameful how FC Barcelona is trying to get him out of his contract, out of his job. “A player who came to his rescue when they were pressured is now in disgrace. Where is the decency?”

Barcelona was determined to sign Marcos Alonso in the summer transfer window. Barcelona is looking to cut down on the wage bill in this transfer window, and they do not have any issues letting Jordi Alba walk away from Nou Camp. Barcelona is re-building their frontline, heading into the 2022/23 campaign, with Raphinha and Robert Lewandowski coming to Catalonia. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang looks set to depart to Chelsea, while Marcos Alonso is moving to Barcelona in the deal. Barcelona is expected to have its hands full by the deadline day. For the past two and a half years that Martin Braithwaite has been a member of Barcelona, he has scored ten goals in 58 games. The Dane’s extensive experience playing at the top level of football, despite the reasonably disappointing number, might be helpful to Espanyol.
